Catching up is like catching a cold

"Progressive Revelations" has existed as a column for nearly 18 years, which means there is a lot of catching up to do when it comes to transferring columns from one web format to another.

I will periodically move columns from its former website location to this blog location, and when I do, I am going to make, like, a really big deal out of it, and it's going to be awesome.  Or something like that.

On July 28, 2009, I wrote about the five rules of Facebook.  A lot has changed since then.  For example, we only wore masks on Halloween or to try on Halloween costumes in 2009. Theft with Consent

(Originally published in July of 2003) This column is long overdue.  To put it in library terms, which I guess I already did (but I'd like to elaborate), this column is like checking out a book in 1998 but not returning it until yesterday.  And by yesterday, I really mean tomorrow.  This analogy will only grow as time continues because yesterday and tomorrow are both relative terms.  I can't wait until the space creatures read this in the year 2577.  Maybe they will e-mail me when they do, just so I feel like my previous sentence came with a purpose. As far as my purpose, I'd like to address the issue of valet parking this week because, quite frankly, I think it's the worst system in the world.  If I was still on that library kick, I'd add that Dewey Decimal -- if that <i>is</i> his real name -- would be laughing in his grave.  Now I understand that this is a "fancy" way to park because someone is doing the parking for you, and anyti...

Adam Levine's acne

I have not been using the blog portion of ProgressiveRevelations.com because most of my thoughts have either been put into columns, summarized into tweets or stored away somewhere in my head, only to be found sometime in the future and tweeted (or thrown out). That said, can I turn on TV without seeing the Proactiv commercials with Adam Levine? Maybe it's because I only watch a couple of channels -- and maybe these channels are owned by Adam Levine -- but you know what? I get it: Adam Levine had acne. He still has acne, he says. But thanks to Proactiv, he doesn't have acne. Or maybe he does but it's just that nobody cares. And maybe nobody ever cared. In 2014, I hope to see this commercial less. In the meantime, I'll be looking for an 'e' for Proactiv.
